Аннотация.

The article considers the mechanisms of formation of pyrophoric deposits in tanks for storing sulfurous oil, caused by hydrogen sulfide corrosion of steel structures with the formation of reactive iron sulfides and their intense exothermic oxidation upon contact with atmospheric oxygen. Special attention is given to risk factors such as anaerobic storage conditions under a hydrocarbon layer and periodic opening of tanks. A comparative analysis of the effectiveness of deactivation of pyrophoric deposits with solutions with various molar ratios is conducted, ensuring polycondensation with the formation of a strong protective polymer film that reliably reduces pyrophoric activity. The laboratory testing methodology by a modified method is described in detail: preparation of solutions, solution treatment procedure, and laboratory tests with recording of self-heating temperature and time to reach the reaction peak. Results of X-ray fluorescence analysis of treated samples are presented, confirming a significant reduction in pyrophoric activity. The method is recommended for implementation at oil industry facilities. The proposed technology ensures time savings and increased safety during maintenance operations. The obtained results demonstrate the readiness of the method for implementation. The proposed method of deactivation of pyrophoric deposits ensures a reduction in the risk of accidents associated with pyrophoric activity at oil industry facilities.
